Mild Weather Continues Followed by Some Rain

Good afternoon folks, hope you enjoyed yet another warm day! It looks like some slight changes are in store later this week, but don't fret, the warm weather is here to stay...finally.

Temperatures across the region today managed to get into the lower 80's, so it was quite warm but nice! We can thank a pesky ridge that has been parked over the region over the past few days, however, it is showing signs of breaking down, which is allowing for some moisture and cloud cover to infiltrate the region this afternoon. This will cause some increased precipitation chances and slightly cooler temperatures over the next few days. There will also be a low pressure area will eject out from the Rockies and impact regions of the Ohio Valley, further increasing rain chances come Wednesday night and into much of Thursday.

Models have come into good agreement that there will be two rounds of rain, one Wednesday night and another Thursday afternoon. The timing of the heaviest showers, and perhaps some storms will occur throughout the day on Thursday and into Thursday evening. The first wave of activity looks to impact western regions of the commonwealth as early as Wednesday night and spread east. Not expecting much in the way of QPF amounts, as the activity will be scattered and light in nature. However the second wave could bring some storms and heavier rain to the region on Thursday. At this time, it seems the heaviest rainfall will occur to our west, with flash flooding a real possibility to the folks to the west. Keep it tuned for the latest developments. Expect the heaviest axis of rain to exit the region late Thursday, with some remaining scattered showers into Friday morning and afternoon. Saturday and Sunday look to be clearing out and plenty of sun to go around!

As increased cloud cover and rain showers approach from the southwest, low temperatures will also be slightly warmer in the lowers 60's. Thursday and Friday will also be even cooler, with highs in the lower 70's. Temperatures will rebound Saturday and Sunday into the upper 70's, so be sure to get out and enjoy it!
