More rain for the Weekend

Current Conditions:  Good afternoon everyone.  We received some much needed rain yesterday and today.  Since midnight, we have received 0.29in. of rain.  Currently a surface low is located over southeastern Missouri with a stationary front stretching from Missouri down into Georgia.  The position of the stationary front is the reason for the rain we have seen yesterday and today.

Figure 1 shows the Drought Monitor map for Kentucky and Warren County is still in the Moderate category.

Forecast Discussion:  The surface low that is located over southeast Missouri will continue to move to the east tomorrow.  Due to the position of the low and available moisture, more rain is possible for tomorrow.   Afternoon heating tomorrow will allow for showers to develop across the area.  A 40% chance of rain is possible.  Rain chances decrease on Sunday as the low pressure system continues to move off to the east.

Days at a Glance:

Tonight:  Expect a low of 72 with winds out of the south at 5 mph.  A passing shower is possible.  Chance of precipitation is 70%.

Saturday:  Low of 68 and a high of 83.  Winds will be out of the southwest at 5 mph.  Precipitation is possible in the afternoon with heating.  Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Sunday:  Low of 70 and a high of 88 under mostly cloudy skies.  Winds will be out of the Northwest at 5mph.  A few passing showers are possible.  Chance of precipitation is 30%.
