Arrival of Spring?!

Drip, drip, drip.... we've seen a ton of melting the last few days and with more warm temperatures in the forecast, the last of the sleet piles should soon be gone. Really not a whole lot to discuss to start... high pressure will be dominating our weather for the next couple days. By tomorrow, we'll slip around to the return side of the high pressure, which basically just means southerly winds and warming temperatures. Highs rise into the mid 60s tomorrow and we should break into the low 70s Tuesday! Meanwhile, thanks again to the high pressure, we should see nearly wall to wall sunshine.

Warmer temperatures will make their way into Kentucky in response to High Pressure to our south.
By Tuesday evening/overnight, the next storm system will makes its way into the Ohio Valley bringing with it the chance for some rain showers and possibly a few storms/rumbles of thunder embedded within. Doesn't appear as though we'll see anything severe though. While we remain more than 2 days out from the storm system, and thus an inherit amount of uncertainty, it appears as though rainfall totals will range from 0.10"-0.50". This total includes any lingering showers that hang around into Wednesday morning.

Weather Prediction Center day 3 total precipitation forecast indicates a general 0.10" to 0.50" across south-central Kentucky which Tuesday night's storm system.
Showers should all clear out before noon on Wednesday but areas of low clouds may stick around most of the day. The passage of the cold front that morning will bring in much cooler temperatures with temps falling from the 50s Wed morning into the 30s by Wed afternoon. So don't put away those jackets just yet. Temperatures will fall into the low-mid 20s for lows by Thursday morning and despite sunny skies, highs will only make it to the mid 40s on Thursday.

Temperatures will be trending upward again by the end of the week though, and we should be taking a crack at 60 again by next weekend.
