Unseasonably Warm Weather Ahead

Good evening!
Today was yet another beautiful day with high temperatures approaching the lower 60's across Kentucky! Good news is that the warm weather is here to stay... that is for the next few days. We expect yet another pattern change later on this week, which I will get to in a minute. But first, lets take a look at the short term.

Short-term
Overall low temperatures tonight will dip into the upper 30's due to clear skies we are currently experiencing. Sunday is looking to be an absolutely fabulous day with crystal clear skies and high temperatures in the upper 60's and possibly reaching the 70's! It'll be another windy one, with southerly winds gusting to as high as 30 mph in the afternoon associated with another weak cold front that will impact the area Sunday Night. This will bring increasing cloudiness and a chance of scattered showers before midnight on Sunday. Low temperatures will of course depend on the timing of the cold front through the region, but will likely dip again in the lower 40's.

18Z GFS coming in a tad cooler, but nonetheless still shows spring-like temperatures access the region. Source: Pivotal Weather

Long-term
The clouds an rain will clear out by Monday morning and high pressure will move in the area, so expect clear skies and highs still in the lower 60's. Another storm system will impact the area Monday evening into the dawn hours of Tuesday. The low is expected to track right over the Commonwealth bringing with it increased chances of rain all day Tuesday and maybe a thunderstorm. Nothing is expected to be severe, but we will continue to watch the system as we get a little closer. The low pressure exits the area Tuesday night, bringing with it much cooler air. Highs on Wednesday are only expected to get up in the mid 40's with clearing skies.

Definitely a good idea to head out and enjoy the tranquil weather tomorrow and this week before Old Man Winter comes knocking yet again!
